The Drawing Board
This is the logo for a project I’m working with. I am so thrilled to be a part of such an exciting and worthy cause! I’ll tell you about it more some other time…Anyway, I want to show you a partial process of all the crazy mental doodling that manifests itself when I’m designing. Above are some of the drafts. My first thought was a robot-soundboard combination because of a band they’re working with. Cute little fella, huh? Then I thought maybe I should create some interesting stencil text. I liked it, but it didn’t say a lot to me. Maybe for a poster in the future.
Collaborating with some of my friends, we came up with the little iPod logo. We really liked this one because it combines the community aspect of it the project with the music and is still pretty youthful and fun. But probably too cute.
Final design
Anyway, this is my alternative favorite logo which they ended up choosing. It’s a bit edgier, is more reflective of the project’s roots, and is still vibrant and bright enough to should the positive impact of the project. I drew upon sound waves and the general way sounds gets displayed. Also the graffiti/grunge style of the parent foundation. What do you think?!
We’ll file this away for later…
Some of the fantastic ideas I got from my friends that didn’t make the cut. But maybe in another project:
01. A microphone that turns into a dragon
02. “more children”
I LOVE that little purple robot…..so cute 🙂
Haha, thanks, Jami! I’m also a little chagrined when I’ve been caught in the act of blogging.
