How HP customer care helped me to…

buy a mac.

I’m so excited!! I’ve been pining for this computer for four years! Finally my HP laptop’s terminal illness required that I by this new computer. I called HP for help after trouble shooting for hours, spend almost two hours on the phone with them for $50 as she walked me through things I’d already done and then told me I would just have to reset my system. Would be tolerably ok if I could use my USB ports or disk drive to back up my files, which I couldn’t. And so…

I have an iMac now. <3

As a student who pays for college and living by herself, it was a large and scary purchase, but that didn’t prevent my from being absolutely thrilled when it arrived today!–I had been stalking it each day since I got the tracking number.

My favorite part so far: The welcome movie that plays when you turn it on for the first time! Evan was nice enough to post-pone his trip to winter park for five minutes to watch me turn it on. It felt really special because that movie only plays ONCE the very FIRST time you turn it on. What was it? You’ll just have to buy a mac.

> I always only look at the refurbished part of the apple store because I trust them to fix the computers properly and I enjoy the idea of saving money.

Oh, and you know what else it means? I can put up pictures again! This one is kind of terrible because I was too excited and needed to go to work, but you get the jist. My friends on facebook thought they would be clever and went on and on about how nice my chicken timer is and did not appreciate my new computer enough…jerks 🙂

Ps. Of course I already changed my desktop with the help of simpledesktops.com— I chose this one, but I really like this one too.
