I can’t believe June is over?! Can you? Second to last month in New York!

Such a good month for the eyes 🙂
FEAST FOR THE EYES>>
- The Language instinct. Steven Pinker. Finally bought this book at Strand after having to return it to the Denver library. I left off kind of not wanting to read it so much, but now I’m re-interested again. It’s just a slow read though. I really liked this quote by linguist Ken Hale: “The loss of a language is part of the more general loss suffered by the world, the loss if diversity in all things.” Truth.
OVER AND OVER AGAIN>>
- “Unbelievers” by Vampire Weekend. This is no joke people, definitely my song for the summer. I have played this song more than a lot of other songs I have put on this list. The whole album in fact. this might be in part because it’s one of two albums on my phone, but also because it’s amazing.
- “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk. I mean, yeah, of course.
COMPULSIONS>>
- Making lists and writing. My go-to activity when overwhelmed.
- Reading article after article of design stuff.
- Lot’s of hanging out with Katie & Igor. They’re good people.
COMPUNCTIONS>>
- Spent so much money while Dina & Christy were here.
- Carnegie-Mellon is seriously scaring me with their lack of giving their students financial aid information.
- Turned 24…good thing? Bad thing? Time will tell.
ENTHUSED>>
- I already made this list on Friday, but yes: enjoying the rest of the summer, traveling, grad school on the horizon!
SIGHTS>>
- Coney Island! Had hot dogs at Nathan’s (sorry animals!) and walked on the beach. Fun times.
- Ethopian food at Zoma for Katie’s farewell. 😉
- 5 Pointz graffiti exhibition.
- MOMA PS1. Still not a fan of modern art…
- Sascha Lobe lecture for AIGA.
- Live music at The Living Room.
- Cloisters in upper Manhattan.
- Eggrolls & Egg Cream festival with Igor! So much fun.
- Museum of the City of New York.
- Got some work done at Wix Lounge’s much nicer new location.
- Rockaway beach with Shanna & Dayle!
- Road bikes through Central Park.
- Detropia. Super great documentary.
