*Incomplete because I didn’t decide to do this until Saturday, but let’s see how this goes!
DESIGN
- The Five Essential Ingredients of a Great Online Portfolio. I subscribe to skillshare and thought this was interesting.
SOCIAL
- TEDxTeen – Tavi Gevinson: Still Figuring it Out (above). Check out her blog or her online magazine. That’s right, she started an acclaimed blog at 11 and is now 16 and runs her own online magazine, while in high school. I checked out her interviews with Jimmy Fallon, Steven Colbert, and David Letterman, and she’s quite sharp.
- Sweden’s Real Size Mannequins Go Viral. “80 percent of 10-year-olds have been on a diet at some point.”
- Grassley NYU letter. I came across this and it was an interesting insight into the negative feelings I already have for paying a lot for school.
SCIENCE
- Rare “Cyclops” Shark Found. This creeped me out profoundly.
MEDIA
- Lena Dunham talks ‘Girls’. Yes, I like the show. I like Lena and her story. My favorite part of this interview is when she describes the need to write the main-character role that she sees and has experienced, rather than a the stereotypical lead.
- Company Immediately Calls Job Applicant Upon Seeing ‘B.A. In Communications’ On Résumé. For funnies. I was an English major, as I never hesitate to remind you.
- I almost forgot: Leading@Google: Susan Cain. This talk inspired me to make a new tumblr.
