There’s something you should know about me…I buy expensive things when I’m stressed. Some people eat, some people write in diaries, and some people go for a walk. But I typically buy expensive electronics. {from most outlandish to least…} iMac (& Adobe programs) Amazon Kindle DSLR camera Silhouette Machine Color scanner Portable hard drive…
Hi-ho, Jacklynn here
Just a note. It’s 6:05 AM on Sunday I haven’t slept yet because I’ve been working on a graphic design project all today (“Saturday”). I just wanted to let you know that I have a Friday Five ready, I just have to take one more picture and there hasn’t been much time…and, well who knows…
MyEdu vs…Learning?
I got this email from the University of Wyoming today advertising that they would be participating in MyEdu, which “works directly with universities to post the official number of A-F’s given by professors and lets you compare grade records before you register, for FREE.” They included this graphic: Why is the university promoting this? 4025: Importance of web design
The “Love of Art” vs. Website Design: An Application of Bourdieu’s Theory in Online Environments is a study done by Jessie Pallud and Detmar W. Straub to measure the effect of web design on non-commercial websites by how it may have influenced people to carry out their original intentions when they visited the site. This…
How I’m feeling
My emotions can always be summed up by The Beatles.
Give a hoot, don’t pollute!
Our costumes for Halloween: an owl, a tree, and an eyeball. I made my costume myself, if you couldn’t tell. My friend Sarah, costume designer extraordinaire, helped me with the pattern, and then I sewed it together. The hood is a Jacklyn original though. The shoes are dyed yellow 🙂 (Carissa took the second one…
If only this weekend were longer…
Sorry I’ve been such a bad blogger. I kind of just stumble around life from deadline to deadline. Hope your Halloween is going well. If it’s not, try making these pumpkin cookies. (They’re divine).
Rant on the UW
I think general studies requirements are important because it gives you a diverse education. However, I hate the fact that the University of Wyoming is much more concern with me getting (and paying for) their requirements than helping me expand my knowledge, bloom, blah blah etc. I know that if they gave concessions to everyone…
Recently thrifted
This weekend I went down to Denver to see Carissa’s always lovely mother and to celebrate her birthday for the third weekend in a row. So much fun (and food!) . 01 | Heels from Target. {$3.74} 02 | Purple flats from a thrift store–originally from Target, you could tell because the tags were still…
4025: Webdesign checklist
Sometimes I like to think that design can’t be reduced to a checklist, but apparently it can. Virgina Montecino, an retired professor of new media at George Mason University compiled a list of Web Design Principles on one of her course pages. Although it feels weird for me to get my information from a list…
