FEAST FOR THE EYES>>

  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Victor Hugo. I finished the book and just feel sad that I was comparing it so much to the dumb cartoon I saw years ago. It’s really not anything like it. It’s super depressing and dark!
  • Thinking fast and slow. Daniel Kahneman. This has been on my to-read list for so long and I finally snagged the audiobook and have been listening to it. It’s so good! It’s making me realize how much I love social psychology. I think maybe that would my side profession if I had another one. I know that I’ve read a lot of them recently, but I would say this is a solid book to look into. There are new studies I haven’t heard before, well-written. And what I really appreciate is Kahneman’s ability to give his work perspective because he’s been working on the problems for so long. For example, he’s able to talk about what he learned when he first started working to what he knows now. it’s like a mini history lesson as well.

ENTHUSED>>

  • Spring break! I’m planning on just lazing round in Pittsburgh. Maybe watching some movies…oh yeah, so good!
  • I’m excited about making progress on my thesis. Finally!
  • Visiting Princess C during the summer! I just have to plan it…..
  • My cousin Korvin mailed my his Flat Stanley project and I had a lot of fun making a little project for him. It’s when you send this little person to your relatives and they tell them about what it’s like to live somewhere else. You can take pictures with Flat Stanley and send it back to them. I ended up making this little website: flatstanleypittsburgh.tumblr.com

COMPULSIONS>>

  • I’ve been working on version two of my thesis prototype and it’s been an addictive flow. This Friday I stayed up until 3 am working on it and then it was the first thing I grabbed to start working on when I woke up (yes, I slept with my laptop in bed). It’s funny that last month it almost killed me. Now I’ve recovered and have started working on it with gusto.
  • Playing this song over and over again. I know it’s super cheesy (super cheesy) but it makes me happy.

COMPUNCTIONS>>

  • Moving. And the arrangements around it.

SIGHTS>>

  • Went to San Francisco, as you know, so I won’t repeat that. But it was a super lovely experience.
  • I saw Ira Glass dance!! I was over the moon this Saturday that I got to see him on his Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host tour. It was so good. I can’t believe that I almost didn’t go because it was a little pricy (for a college student). I’m so glad I made the plunge! Ira Glass…what a dream. He’s easily makes my top five celebrities list. Here’s the people I ‘got’ to go with me:

STORIES>>

  • Black Mirror. My friend showed us one of the episodes while we were in San Francisco and I thought it was super interesting. It’s this dark science-fiction Netflix series about different future possibilities.
  • The Wiz. I saw the CMU drama department’s production of The Wiz. It’s a different version of the Wizard of Oz with with African American perspective that came out in the 70s. I really enjoyed it and thought the costumes were so fascinating!
